Moore Square- A Plein Air Painting by Tesh Parekh

Moore Square. 15×22. Watercolor on paper. Plein Air.

I have always wanted to paint Moore Square (Raleigh downtown). It is such a busy place.  And of course, there is the giant Acorn! I had recently done a live event painting at Cobblestone Hall, which is part of the City Market. I did this painting on a cloudy afternoon. The light wasn’t ideal for the kind of painting I had in mind. But, I guess the pain of not painting seemed to be far greater than waiting for ideal conditions!

I used Strathmore 400 series 140 lb CP paper. I had lot of difficulty handling paint on this paper surface. The painting also took longer than normal as there were many people who stopped by to ask questions and give comments! But, that is the fun of painting outdoors!

And these are the reasons for me to go out and paint again!
